The ideal mentor, therapist, teacher:
1. has the willingness to – in your awareness of where your client is – feel no judgement about where they are.
2. Willing to allow them to take as long as they need to move from where they are and even allow them not to move from where they are at all and be OK about that.

1.. As a therapist, you have to make peace with where your clients are. If you have a desire to take them anywhere else, your energy is split. Where you are is where you are, and if you receive them like that, they will feel you as accepting. That leaves you willing to allow them as much time as possible to move or not even to move. Otherwise you get invested and feel frustrated if they do not move, and then they move YOU downward.
